He is risen!!! Jen whipped up a resurrection cake with the kids. Not having an oven and being as resourceful as she is, it was a rice crispy cake! The kids were great helpers and helped shape the cakes into their molds and also decorated, of course.
Oops. We have the bare minimum for cooking, so instea of a proper stand alone pot, we use the one out of the instantpot on the gas stove when needed. Jen used it to melt the butter and marshmallows for the cake and this time, the heat was too much for the lid. The edges curled and melted and now I have some work to do if we’re going to be able to use the Instantpot again.
After the cake and garden making, it was time to relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Amelia and Henry both were ready to put on their suits, so in the water they went. I didn’t mention to them or Jen that when we had pulled up the day before I saw a snake swim (slither, not sure what you call it) off from the bank right in front of where we parked. I had looked up the poisonous possibilities and was certain enough that it wasn’t any of them to allow the kids to enjoy the water.
So that is what they did.
