Playing catchup with these blogs as I’m writing this one on April 24th and though I remember these activities, the nuances of the days have left my mind and the desire to be caught up is compelling me to share some photos and only short written narratives. Sorry, but maybe you’ll enjoy this more 😉
The morning after a beach day has everything feeling sandy, towels and swimsuits strewn about drying, but overall, a peace found whenever the gentle waves crashing nearby can slow down the rhythms of life.
Today we left the beach for a quick drive to Space Center Houston, where from the parking lot you’re beckoned to explore with views of a space shuttle riding atop a NASA 905 shuttle carrier.
This facility was surprisingly also participating in the national ASTC passport program and therefore the gift from Grammy saved us $110. Thanks Grammy!!
It wasn’t all about space, though there are large sections that are including a big area dedicated to Mars. There were also displays for the exploration of weather and geology.
Because it was a weekend, overall it felt a little crowded, so after we saw all the big things (we touched rocks from the moon and mars!) we bought a sticker for the cabinet, some astronaut ice cream, and made our way out to the van for lunch.
We looked at iOverlander to scope out a good overnight stop on our way towards New Orleans which we had a few days to get there where we’d check into an Air Bnb for a few nights while I represented Makers Making Change at the AOTA conference. The app pointed us towards a county park which we pulled into and had enough time for the kids to scooter around before dark.
