We woke up, undisturbed throughout the night. We had heard that Long Beach was lenient about overnight parking along the roads, but was still pleased to not have to wake up and move locations. A good breakfast and then we put on our jackets to “explore” the
woods beside us. There were a few slashing piles from some clearing and some other less than desirable evidence of humans in the area, but besides that Jen spotted a frog that was really cool and there were numerous mushrooms, flowers, sticks, and depressions of water to observe.
After our exploration, we set out further South, but mostly East as we were passing by Grammy & Papa’s in Longview. Of course we wanted to see them, but we also had a full laundry bag and Jen wasn’t feel 100%, so a couple nights sleep under a typical roof with family sounded great.
When we pulled up the kids were SO excited, they got out of their seats, ran to the door and were hoping like bunnies waiting for Grammy to answer the door. The rest of the day was full of laundry, showers, and playing with grammy’s toys (Barbies and GI Joes) next to the fire in the basement.
